With a PBS series in the works and a James Beard award under her belt, Southern Living Magazine chef and editor Virginia Willis comes to Hancock to put a southern spin on old Shaker favorites. The celebrity chef at last year’s Kentucky Derby, Willis teams up with farm-to-table chef Brian Alberg to create a memorable Shaker-meets-Southern dinner. Learn how the author of Lighten Up, Y’All: Classic Southern Recipes Made Healthy and Wholesome incorporates foodways of the Kentucky Shakers (think tart lemon pie!) as she reimagines Shaker cooking, taking advantage of our garden produce.
